Dr. Joseph Le Doux, Professor of Neuroscience at New York University, will present the 7th Annual Swartz Foundation Mind Brain Lecture on March 31, 2003.
The talk will be held at 4:30 at the Staller Center on the campus of SUNY-Stony Brook. The lecture is titled The Synaptic Self: How Our Brains Become Who We Are. The Mind/Brain Lectures are free and intended for a general audience. You need not be affiliated with the University to attend.
A noted researcher on the neurobiological basis of emotions, Prof. LeDoux was prominently featured in Newsweek and Discover magazines in February 2003. His work on the fear system of the brain covers all level of neuroscience investigation, from the molecular to the anatomical to the behavioral. Dr. LeDoux's work is a gateway to understanding of human emotion and to phobic and anxiety-related disorders.
