Signal-transduction networks subserve the needs of individual cells to respond adaptively to complex environmental signals. As a case study, we present preliminary results of a model for the biochemical signalling network underlying the computation of heading direction for chemotaxis in the slime mold amoeba Dictyostelium Discoideum.
